We know that animal welfare is a top priority for our customers and also increases farm productivity.
We sell the largest volume of RSPCA Assured products of any supermarket and take an outcome-based approach to health and welfare. We have developed a unique set of outcome measures to allow us to measure and drive continuous improvements in our key supply chains.

Our ambition is to be industry-leading in our level of transparency and show the progress we are making in these areas.

All by Sainsbury’s fresh and frozen chickens have access to 20% more space than the Red Tractor UK industry standard
