TV and podcast star Jamie Laing joins Sainsbury’s for the ultimate ‘Ho Ho Hosting’ masterclasses in London. The sessions, which are taking place today and tomorrow, will help novice hosts, like Jamie, to take on the cooking challenge this Christmas.

The masterclasses are in response to research from Sainsbury’s that revealed a third of Millennials (38%) haven’t taken on the Christmas hosting challenge, whilst a further four-in-ten of non-hosts don’t think they will EVER host a Christmas dinner (40%).

The absence of Christmas hosts is largely down to a lack of confidence in the kitchen (14%), whilst a further third (33%) said they don’t know how to cook Christmas lunch, which rises for Generation Z (42%) and Millennials (39%).

Jamie, along with attendees, will be mastering the art of how to sleigh the seasonal soirée and knock up the perfect festive feast, thanks to Sainsbury’s and Festive Chef Tassy Goodall. The two-hour sessions will help attendees become experts in curating canapés and appetizers to knock guests’ socks off, as well as nailing the complex timings of the roast dinner and making sure Christmas leftovers don’t go to waste.

Guests will kick off the festive sessions with a glass of mulled wine upon arrival before the masterclass officially begins. At the end they’ll be able to indulge in a taste of Christmas with a festive goody bag full of Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference treats and any leftovers cooked up during the class.

As well as getting clued up on the hosting hacks, attendees will serve up some of the newest products in the Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Christmas range, including the Cheddar & Truffle Ciabatta Crostinis, Posh Prawn Toasties, and desserts like the delicious Taste the Difference Home for Christmas that featured in the supermarket’s Christmas advert this year.

Jamie Laing said:
“Christmas is my favourite time of year. There’s nothing like spending time with friends and family and enjoying delicious food and drink in each other’s company. This year I’m taking on the hosting challenge for the first time and am looking forward to having all those little questions I’ve had for years about it answered, as well as learning the basics from the experts at Sainsbury’s.”
