Proudlock and Emma, whose ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic, offer a glimpse of what their wedding could look like, with exclusive imagery on the Argos website
With huge wedding celebrations replaced with miniature – but just as meaningful – ceremonies, Argos offers a special Google Pixel 4a ‘wedding package’. Alongside wedding goodies from Argos, the package contains a brand-new smartphone to capture the day, after 45 per cent* said they’d regrettably be leaving a photographer off the guest list in favour of snapping pictures themselves.
Oliver Proudlock and Emma Louise Connolly looked stunning as they posed in a pre-wedding photoshoot in advance of their as-yet unannounced ceremony. The celebrity pair were due to get married in April this year, but pushed their wedding back due to the pandemic.
Despite their wedding being postponed, Made in Chelsea star Proudlock and model Emma looked more in love than ever in the photoshoot, which showed that miniature celebrations can still be meaningful. Emma put on a chic display in an autumnal orange suit before changing into a silvery gown, while Proudlock showed his signature style in a fitted plaid suit.
The pictures from the shoot are available to view exclusively on the Argos website, alongside a guide on how to take the best wedding shots only using your smartphone. Images of the gorgeous couple were captured using the new Google Pixel 4a smartphone’s legacy camera, which is now available on the Argos website in a newly launched wedding package. The package, alongside exclusive images from the shoot, can be found on the Argos website. The helpful bundle contains the brand-new Google Pixel 4a smartphone, as well as a host of free wedding ‘essentials’ from Argos, including a light-up board for a personalised message and a bottle of English sparkling wine. Argos and Google launched the bundle after 45 per cent of couples getting married between now and 2022 said they’ll be forgoing a wedding photographer, and 65 per cent will be taking pictures on a smartphone rather than using a traditional camera set-up.
Argos and Google have also teamed up to offer a unique competition: those whose weddings have previously been postponed due to the pandemic can win 15 free Google Pixel 4a devices, so that friends and family can share images of the big day with those who weren’t able to be there in person, taking pictures the bride & groom, groom & groom or bride & bride will remember forever. To enter, brides and grooms-to-be should simply email a confirmation of their venue postponement or cancellation, as well as proof of purchase of the Google Pixel 4a at Argos, to
[email protected].
Oliver Proudlock said: “It was so upsetting to postpone our wedding, but like everyone else, we’re trying to make the best of a bad situation. We know that whenever it does happen we will cherish it even more. I love these pictures, and they make me so excited to share this special moment with our close friends and family soon.”
Emma Louise Connolly said: “It was great fun spending the day with Ol, taking these images in preparation for the ‘real deal’ in the near future. Postponing our wedding was a tough decision, but we can’t wait to celebrate with our close family and friends soon.”
Jacqui Emslie, Senior Mobiles Buyer, said: “Our research shows that 45 per cent of brides and grooms to-be are set to downsize their celebrations over the next few years, and we wanted to help show that even with fewer people there on the day, you can still make it extra special.
“We’ve created a brand-new wedding package on our website so you have everything you need to make your big day as incredible as you deserve it to be, as well as a competition that means guests can win a Pixel 4a and snap pictures the happy couple will always remember.
“Oliver and Emma’s pre-wedding shoot shows that even without a traditional camera, you can take beautiful pictures you’ll look back at for years and decades to come.”
The Google Pixel 4a smartphone’s HDR+ makes your photos look better by automatically adjusting for colour and lighting, while Night Sight means you’ll be able to snap stunning pictures even as the evening turns dark. Backgrounds can be blurred to make the happy couple the focus of the pictures, and images can be shared across three apps simultaneously to broadcast the news to friends and family who couldn’t physically attend.
