Sainsbury’s opens new Greenwich Local store

New 2,150 sq ft convenience store opened its doors on 2nd July in Greenwich
Sainsbury’s is pleased to announce that its new Local store on Banning Street in Greenwich officially opened its doors at 7am on Thursday 2nd July, offering customers a convenient choice of quality food for fantastic value. Nearby Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice's Deborah Abodunrin cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony at 9am, where all Government guidance on social distancing was adhered to.

The new store will offer an excellent range of fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products and a fresh bakery, as well as other convenience products. The store will trade from 7am-11pm Monday to Sunday. 

As well as creating 10 new jobs, the new store will play an active role in the local community, working closely with nearby Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice as its local charity partner and supporting Sainsbury’s nationwide community programmes. 

Asraf Bhuiyan, Sainsbury’s Greenwich Banning Street Local Store Manager said: “It’s a very exciting day for the new team and we look forward to providing our customers with quality products and friendly service.
