With even the slightest hint of summer sunshine, we love to head outside to eat al- fresco - our new summer eating ranges are just the ticket, whether you’re planning a leisurely weekend picnic or a quick trip to the park on your lunch break.
Dips
Our new dips are bursting with vibrant and exciting flavours, luxurious toppings and quality ingredients. Try our Taste the Difference Extra Virgin Olive Oil Houmous with Black Olive Tapenade topped with Lilliput capers and the Taste the Difference Thai Edamame Houmous with chilli pesto and Roquito pepper pearls.
We love the Taste the Difference Whipped Feta & Yoghurt Dip; a sumptuously creamy Feta and yoghurt base, topped with mint drizzle and crushed pistachios. With turmeric one of the fastest rising ‘Googled’ foods of 2016, we’ve also introduced a sunshine-coloured Yellow Split Pea & Turmeric Houmous to our range.

Salads
Our colourful new salads showcase fresh and wholesome ingredients, from turmeric and ancient grains to avocado, roasted nuts, pickled vegetables and even edible flowers. Appetite for less refined, but still satisfying wheat-alternatives has fuelled the inclusion of quinoa, spelt, freekah and wild rice in our salads.
Our by Sainsbury’s Mozzarella & Flower Blossom Salad Bowl is super Instagramable with its colourful (and totally edible) Viola flowers, on top of fresh mixed salad leaves with beautiful mozzarella pearls and crunchy carrot, cucumber and radish, accompanied by a zingy lemon dressing.
For a multi-coloured addition to your picnic, opt for our by Sainsbury’s Thai Style Rainbow Ribbon Salad; mixed leaves with ribbons of carrot, mooli, cucumber and radish, toasted coconut flakes and a chilli and coriander dressing.
Our Taste the Difference Butternut & Bulgar Wheat Salad offers vibrant chunks of butternut squash on bulgar wheat base with an aromatic green harissa dressing and we love the Taste the Difference Kale & Roasted Peanut Salad with its delicious satay sauce and wild rice base.

Quiches
To appeal to younger, health conscious customers, we’ve taken a fresh approach to our new by Sainsbury’s crustless quiches, using coconut oil and packing them with trendy ingredients such as aubergine, courgetti and Boodles:
- by Sainsbury’s Courgetti, Halloumi & Lemon Quiche - Fresh Courgetti, Pesto, Halloumi & Mozzarella Cheese, Salted Lemon Paste, Pasteurised Free Range Egg & Crème Fraiche, on a Coconut pastry base.
- by Sainsbury’s Spiced Boodles with Feta Quiche - Boodles of Spiced Butternut Squash, roasted aubergine and zesty Feta, all on a coconut pastry base.
Our restaurant-style Beurre Noisette pastry sets our seven new Taste the Difference quiches apart - twice cooked butter gives a deliciously rich texture, with a nutty caramel flavour and a beautiful golden colour. We’ve gone the extra mile with our fillings too, showcasing top quality ingredients such as our barrel-aged Feta, Orkney crab and Welsh cavern-aged cheddar. The range includes:
- Taste the Difference Barrel Aged Feta & Slow Roasted Tomato Quiche - tangy barrel-aged Greek feta with tender spinach, hand topped with juicy baby plum and slow-roasted tomatoes and delicate courgette ribbons.
- Taste the Difference Orkney Crab, Slow Roasted Tomato & Rocket Quiche - Sweet Orkney crab with fresh rocket, lemon and a hint of chilli, hand-finished with slow roasted tomatoes and crunchy herb breadcrumbs.
