With temperatures set to exceed 25⁰C in parts of the UK this weekend, Sainsbury’s expects BBQ and picnic staples to be at the top of the nation’s shopping lists, predicting 400% uplifts on summer eating essentials.
Sainsbury’s weekend sales forecasts indicate sales of olives, dips and salads are also set to soar.
- Dust off the BBQ - Sainsbury’s expects to sell over 1.9 million sausages over Saturday and Sunday, along with nearly 880,000 individual burgers to fill a predicted 3 million bread rolls.
- Berry nice weather - Last week saw blueberries, raspberries and strawberries among the top 5 best sellers at Sainsbury’s, with a further 15% uplift expected this weekend.
