Sainsbury’s Transport Compliance Manager Sharon Mitchell said: "We are very proud of this achievement with Ecostars. It’s part of Sainsbury’s commitment to respecting our environment as we continue to reduce carbon emissions."

Jim Chappell, ECO Stars Manager said: "We’ve been very impressed with the commitment that Sainsbury’s has shown to managing their fleet’s impact on the environment, and are delighted that they have embraced the ECO Stars scheme so wholeheartedly.

"From just one depot in Sherburn-in-Elmet five years ago, now every Sainsbury’s distribution centre able to join across the UK has now signed up. ECO Stars is open to all fleet operators – whatever their size, but it’s fantastic to have the support of such a recognised and respected operator as Sainsbury’s."
