Salad inspiration by Sainsbury’s

15 May 2014

In May, Sainsbury’s is helping its customers to bring their home-made salads to life by introducing an exciting new range of fresh dressings, lightly spiced sprinkles and crunchy croutons to accompany their existing salad bags.

Sainsbury’s range of salad dressings includes two new additions - Red Pepper and Chipotle Chilli and Creamy Chive with all existing dressings undergoing recipe improvements.  Each dressing bottle has clearly visible portion control information on the packaging as well as three Be Good To Yourself dressings including Caesar dressing for those who are looking for a lighter option.

Sprinkles are a completely new offering from Sainsbury’s and include innovative flavours like Toasted Seed and Pine Nut sprinklesand Moroccan Style sprinkles which are sure to help customers introduce aromatic or lightly spiced textures to their salad creations.

And finally customers can choose from an expanded selection of crunchy croutons to offer an extra layer of textures with flavours including Salt and Pepper croutons or Garlic and Herb Croutons.

Combinations we like:

  • Italian Style Peppery Baby Leaf Salad with Italian Style Balsamic Dressing, Italian Style Sprinkles and Italian Style Ciabatta croutons.
  • Crispy Leaf Salad with Caesar Dressing, Crispy Onion Sprinkles and Garlic and Herb Croutons
  • Sweet Herb Salad with Honey and Mustard Dressing, Toasted Seed and Pine Nut Sprinkles and Salt and Pepper Croutons

Ann Hedges, Product Developer for Produce at Sainsbury’s said:  “Salads are often thrown together at the end of cooking to serve with a meal but this range offers customers easy inspiration to make flavourful and creative salads every time. By choosing a theme or mixing and matching between more than 200 different combinations home-made salads can really come to life.”

‘Salads by Sainsbury’s’ will have its own dedicated bay conveniently located next to the prepared salad bags in all Sainsbury’s supermarkets from 1 May offering customers easy access to salad inspiration.
