    Who can I speak to about my questions?
  • We receive many enquiries from students for company information, such as Annual Reports, Mission Statement and Responsibility information and unfortunately we are not able to reply to these individually.
  • We have designed and built this website with students in mind so we're confident that you will be able to find the information that you require. In particular, the About us section, our Annual Report and Sustainability pages should be useful.

    What good causes do you support?

    Through our Nourish the Nation community programme we are on a mission to tackle food poverty within the communities that we serve, and we have a range of initiatives in place to ensure that people across the country have access to healthy and nutritious food, now and in the future.

    We are therefore prioritising initiatives that aim to support those living in food poverty and those at risk of falling into food poverty and are unfortunately unable to support requests that do not fit these criteria.

    Are you able to provide prizes for raffles?

    We are unfortunately unable to donate prizes for raffles and fundraising events as since the launch of our Nourish the Nation programme we are, as much as possible, prioritising initiatives that have a broader impact on communities living in food poverty or at risk of falling into food poverty.

    Do you support local charities with food donations?

    Our stores are connected with local partners to ensure that we are supporting communities with access to nutritious food through our customer food donations, as well as surplus food donations from our stores.

    Other food donation requests, that are aligned to our mission of tackling food poverty, are dealt with at an individual store level so please contact your local store to see if they can accommodate your request. Please note, this is only possible at certain times throughout the year and at the store’s discretion. You can find contact details using our Store Locator.

    What type of food donations requests are you able to support?

    We are committed to our brand promise of providing Good food for all of us, this includes our Nourish the Nation community programme which aims at tackling food poverty. We are therefore prioritising donations of healthy and nutritious food that can support those living in food poverty and are unable to support donations of refreshments for events (i.e., for fairs, BBQs, fundraising events), products that are high in fat, salt or sugar (i.e., chocolate and cakes) as well as other products such as toys and electronics.

    Can I fundraise at my local Sainsbury’s store?

    Our community programme is focused on supporting good causes that help to tackle food poverty, however we also understand the importance of supporting other charities with local fundraising to help broaden the impact we make within communities.

    Arrangements are made at an individual store level so please contact your local store to see if they can accommodate your request, however this is only possible at certain times throughout the year and at the store’s discretion. You can find contact details using our Store Locator.

    Please note, you will need to complete a code of conduct and charity access form prior to fundraising taking place in store. You will also not be able to collect our customer data as it does not fall in line with the Data Protection Act 2018, the Fundraising Regulations, or the Charity Commissions Guidelines, therefore we cannot allow contactless donation payments.
